About The Berkshires
The Berkshire county, located in the far west region of Massachusetts, is a wonderful area
for vacation or just for a weekend visit for neighboring New England residents.  Many from
neighboring states such as New York, Vermont and Connecticut have only a few hours
drive to enjoy the Berkshires.

Within the Berkshires there is a vast amount of sporting events, hiking, cultural and art that
many visit on a regular basis.  

Some of the many places to visit are:

  • Tanglewood - Lenox, MA -  At Tanglewood many concerts such as the annual Bernstein


  •  Williams College Museum of Art - Willamstown -  The museum houses works that
     cover the contemporary and modern.  The admission is free.

  • Hancock Shaker Village - Pittsfield, MA - The Hancock Shaker Village brings back the past
    with tours and many other events.  Man of the collection of Shaker buildings and artifacts
    reside here.  If you are one for vintage items such as arts and crafts, furniture, Shaker Village
    is well worth your time.

  • Norman Rockwell Museum - Stockbridge, MA - At the museum you can view original
    artwork by the master of American art.  Such work as the Saturday Evening Post cover and
    the Four Freedoms are housed at the museum along with Rockwell many others.  View many
    of Rockwell's archives.

  • Ashuwillticook Rail Trail - This trail is a ten foot wide path which was converted from a
    railroad run.  It encompasses the towns of Cheshire, Lanesborough and Adams, MA. Great
    for biking, hiking and picture taking.

  • Williamstown Theatre Festival - Williamstown, MA -  During the summer you can attend
    theater and enjoy a vast amount of talented artists.

  • Jacobs Pillow Dance, Becket, MA - Founded by Ted Shawn in the 1930's, is well known for
    festivals and professional school.  There are two theatres, and both are free.
