On a recent project in San Francisco I took time to visit some neat areas. One only needs to visit SF once and they are sure to return.
A sure visit is Haight & Asbury streets. Here you can experience the1960's viewing wonderful wall murals and colorful building surroundings. If you want to take some serious photos I suggest you arrive around 8 - 9 AM. The serious street photographer will surely enjoy this visit. You will come upon some homeless people but in fact I had some interesting conversation with some. Many of the shops are still closed and the visitor traffic is very light. Most shops open around 10 or 11 AM and you're sure to find some interesting items to remember the trip.
Bring several quarter dollar pieces for parking and never allow the meter to expire for fines are heavy.

Lombard Street
I felt very energetic one day and decided I would visit the "winding" Lombard Street by foot.
Lombard's winding road is probably one of the most visited sites of SF and is located by Hyde Street. Since I was at The Moscone Recreation Center and as I mentioned very energetic that day, I decided to walk to the winding Lombard Street. Now one may say looking at this map that it is not that long of a walk and you are correct. However, as one walks towards Hyde street from The Moscone Center there are several very almost vertical walks up Lombard before you reach the famous winding Lombard. An interesting walk it was, passing neat areas of interest such as the school Joe DiMaggio attended. Either way you plan on getting there, Lombard's winding road is a must visit.

Golden Gate Bridge
A visit to San Francisco would not be complete without getting some sunset shots of the Golden Gate and its scenic bay.
A neat start to your day is in Sausalito and its splendid marina and town. If your starting from the south just drive along the highlighted markings on map or better yet take the ferry from the Fisherman's Wharf area. Spend a good day in Sausalito and if possible bring a bike with you.
See the Fort Mason Center and shop until you almost drop but be sure to stroll around the town and walk along the pier. Here you can take great photos of the bridge up close along with Pelicans flying by.
